Service Description: Neighbours Community Homes provides shared and self-contained accommodation for singles, couples, and families living on low income with serious mental illness. Support includes general counselling, goal coaching, life skills and tenancy support, crisis intervention and prevention, capacity building, peer leadership, and wellness and health promotion. Referral is made to clinical and specialty services (employment support, homemaking services, addiction counselling, primary care). Community and hospital-based mental health organizations refer tenants. There are some wheelchair accessible units and accommodation for deaf and deafened tenants. A portion of our housing services is dedicated to ex-Canadian Military personnel. Neighbours Community Homes also provides self-contained accommodation for singles and woman-led households who are experiencing problematic substance use and living on a low income. Support includes general counselling, life skills and tenancy support, crisis intervention and prevention, capacity building, peer leadership, and wellness and health promotion. Referrals are made to clinical and specialty services (employment support, homemaking services, addiction counselling, primary care) to support recovery. There are some wheelchair accessible units.


Application: Referrals are accepted from anyone, including self-referrals. Referrals are through The Access Point. Please call or fill out the application form online. Once the application is received, a service navigator will call the individual to set up an appointment to do an intake assessment.
